Amity Institute of Food Technology, a vital constituent of Amity University was established on December 5, 2006 according to a decision of the Academic Council conveyed vide letter No. AUUP/Academic/03/2006 dated 05.12.2006 by Registrar, Amity University, Uttar Pradesh. In that very Academic Council Meeting, the commencement of B. Tech. (Food Tech.), 4 year programme from the academic year 2007-08 was also approved.
The Institute has five well equipped laboratories viz. Food Microbiology & Biotechnology Laboratory, Food Chemistry Laboratory, Instrumentation & Research Laboratory, Food Packaging Laboratory and Sensory Evaluation Laboratory. In addition, the Institute has a Food Processing Hall to house pilot plant to familiarize the students with different unit processes and operations related to the processing of various plant and animal-based foods.
