The inception of Christ College is the realization of the longing of the people of Saurashtra and Kutch, for an efficacious centre for Higher Learning. Christ College, started in 1998, has the distinction of being the first multi-faculty co-ed English medium college in Arts , Science and Commerce in Saurashtra and Kutch region of Gujarat and it provides quality education to the youth so as to enable them to take up the challenges of the morrow.
College started with 114 students in St Mary’s School building in 1998. On December 25, 2000, the foundation stone of the new college building was blessed by Rev. Gregory Karotemprel, the Bishop of Rajkot diocese, and laid by the then Union Minister of Gujarat, Dr.Vallabhbhai Kathiria and the then Finance Minister Shri Vajubhai Vala. The new premises of Christ College at Vidya Niketan were inaugurated on December 25, 2001 and launched into fame by the eminent scientist, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.

Hostel Facility
Well managed and furnished hostels are available for both boys and girls. The hostel for girls on the Campus is run by Aaradhna Charitable Trust managed by Rev. Sisters of Adoration of Blessed Sacrament (SABS) congregation. The hostels for boys are run by various private agencies. The hostels provide homely ambience to the students for serious study. Hygienic food, laundry and other facilities are available in the hostels. A/C and Non-A/C rooms are available.
