Master of Computer Applications (MCA) course aims to prepare candidates for the IT industry. It will provide the necessary theoretical foundation and the skills to make the successful candidates proficient in software development, paving the way for self-employment. Core focus of the course is on Database, Application Programming, System Level Programming and Network and Internet Technologies. Adequate emphasis is given for the Open Source Software platform and emerging technologies. The need for continuity in the electives offered in the fourth and fifth semesters, leading to desired specialisation, has been given due attention. The Audit courses included in the syllabus, one per year, would give the candidates soft skills necessary for the employment market.
