The Government Physical Education College for Women, Hooghly has been established in the year 1984 and housed at Government Training College, Hooghly under the directorate of Higher Education Department, Govt. of West Bengal view that women candidates of West Bengal and other states will be benefited through this Teachers Training facilities as there were acute stratagem of Trained Physical Education Teacher.
This college is affiliated to the University of Burdwan , Rajbati, Dist- Burdwan. The college is running Bachelor of Physical Education (B. P.Ed.) Course and only women candidates are allowed to sit for admission test.
College has sufficient equipment for all sports activities and also has a library with enough number of Physical Education Books, encyclopedia etc., Gymnasium, Auditorium
