The Guru Jambheshwar University, Hisar, was established on October 20, 1995 by an Act of the Legislature of the State of Haryana. It was formally inaugurated on November 1, 1995. It is named after Guru Jambheshwar Ji Maharaj, a saint environmentalist of 15th century.
Library:The Library has processed the subscription of 169 Indian Journals in the year 2013. The Journals already subscribed in the Library were reviewed keeping in view their utilization pattern. The Library subscribes 56 magazines and 20 newspapers to cater to the general information needs of the University. The access to more than 6000 electronic journals of 17 publishers, 7 databases and JCCC portal" is provided by INFLIBNET- an organ of UGC.
Laboratory:The Central Instrumentation Laboratory is established for the students, research scholars and teachers of the university who are actively engaged in R&D activities in the emerging areas of science, technology & engineering. The CIL is presently having sophisticated instruments like High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS), UV-VIS-NIR-Spectrophotometer, Differential Scanning Calorimeter, Lyophilizer and FTIR Spectrometer, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Spectrometer etc. The process for procurement of other sophisticated instruments is in progress. These instruments are generally used to pursue R & D activities by our University Teaching Departments other academic/research Institute/Universities and Industries.
Hostel Facility
University provides hostel accommodation to all girls students who make a request for it. There are six hostels for boys and girls in the university, which can house more than 1600 students.
