GMR Institute of Technology (GMRIT) established by GMR Varalakshmi Foundation – the corporate social responsibility arm of GMR Group – GMRIT offers aspiring engineers high quality technical education. Modern Auditorium: GMRIT has a state-of-the-art auditorium with a seating capacity of 264. Well designed acoustics, a 17000 W audio system, imported multimedia projector, special stage lighting, computerised AC system are just some of its hi-tech features.
Dining: Providing hygienic and nutritious meals, two times a day. Well-ventilated and modern dining halls are provided for both the hostels. A resident F&B Manager is appointed to monitor and optimise the nutritional levels in food served.
Yoga: Students are encouraged to attend Yoga classes to help them balance work and recreation, mind and body.
Exclusive Computer Block : A computer block with internet facility is provided in the women's hostel for computer-related work after college hours.
ATM: The management has arranged an Andhra Bank ATM facility on campus for the convenience of students and faculty.
Medical Assistance: A doctor and health assistant offer their services to both hostels, everyday.
Canteen: Canteen facility is provided for day scholars with healthy and tasty foods at reasonable rates.
Internet and wireless networking: We are having 24 MBPS dedicated Internet bandwidth from SIFY & BSNL through BSNL leased lines to provide Internet facility to all the students and staff members of GMRIT. Wireless networking facility is also provided within the campus to connect mobile users
Hostel Facility
GMRIT hostels were built in 1998. Providing separate accommodation for men and women, the present strength of the residential community is 1000 +. The two hostels are headed by the Administrative Officer whose keen observation and guidance enables the staff to discharge their duties effectively, while continuously maintaining discipline among the residents. Both hostels are provided with TV's, board games, newspapers, journals, etc. for indoor entertainment. Separate shuttle courts are also provided in the hostel complex. Hostelers are taken out for a movie or shopping, once a month.
GMRIT’s Training, Placement and Development Cell plays a critical role in networking graduating students with the industry. It prepares the students for the process of recruitment and simultaneously create awareness among companies about the recruitment opportunities at GMRIT. Potential recruiters are given structural support for scheduling interviews, hosting seminars, group discussions and written tests.
