Kirodimal Institute of Technology, first Engineering college of Raigarh was established in 2000. It is governed under the Kirodimal Polytechnic Society and affiliated to Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University, Bhilai and is approved by AICTE, new Delhi. KIT is committed towards forging students to become globally acceptable technocrats by virtue of their sheer hard work, proper training in various fields and inculcating human values in them. Institute is located in the Orissa road of city at Garhumaria , Raigarh. It is well connected by National highway, South eastern railway. Key initiative like teacher guardian scheme, book bank scheme, induction of resource books, and yearly organisation of events like technical and cultural festivals makes K.I.T an institute with a difference. Thus, within just 15 years of its existence, K.I.T has carved out a niche for itself as one of the leading engineering colleges under the C.S.V.T.U Bhilai.
Library: Library is the soul of our educational institution. The Engineering College Library has been an integral part of academic endeavor in college. Keeping in view intensive and extensive use, the library is being constantly enriched by the acquisition of latest books and journals keeping in pace with changing times, to further the advancement of the University's academic activities. Library is open for bonafide members though non-members can also utilize its resources with the permission of the Director. The library has access to more than 2000 electronic journals which is available through the campus wide NKN network to all computers in the institute.The Institute library will have around 12000 books with 740 titles. And International and national journals and magazines are available here. The library provides on-line access to a large number of full-text journal databases from various publishers. The library provides various services for its members such as- Topper students to provide 5 books in each semester ,also Provide Library facility for Hosteller students and belonging to reservation category students, photocopying, 24 hrs. book study in reading room its capacity for 60 students, almost 10 years question papes easily get , 8 different types of NEWS paper like – The times of India, Navbharat, Dainik Bhasker etc available. Future planof library Institute would be Subscribe IEEE/ACM full portal ASME, (ELSIVIEAR) science direct, DELNET Library, and Online Access to E-Books enabling students and staff to refer to the other member libraries for additional information for their research / projects.
Internet Facility: The Institute provides 24x7 Internet facility through 10 Mbps (1:1) leased line, NKN (National knowledge Network) a high speed internet network provided by Govt of India for sharable research with NITs and IITs. This Internet facility is available in all the Academics Departments, Library and various sections of the Institute .The Institution also have separate broadband connection of 2 mbps for backup use.
Recreation Hall: A Recreation Hall is provided in the college with indoor games such as Table Tennis, Carom, Chess, Cable TV etc. All the students can avail computer knowledge. The computer facilities are updated and advanced to cover the latest developments in the world. The institute has arrangements to show video films on various subjects which are useful for the students.
Transportation: Institute has its own fleet of three buses to provide comfortable mode of transportation. The Buses cater to the needs of students residing in the surrounding areas of Raigarh city.
