Mohamed Sathak Engineering College (MSEC) was established in Kilakarai in 1984. It is worth to note that MSEC was the very first Self – Financing Engineering College established in the state of Tamilnadu.We are the pioneers in the field of Engineering possessing rare courses from like Aeronautical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Architecture, Marine Engineering. So far more than 15000 UG & 2500 PG students got graduated from our institute and are placed well off in National & International Levels.The College has more than normal facilities expected of an Engineering College of high standard. Classrooms are spacious and airy. All the labs are well equipped. Computer laboratories are well organized with Internet facilities available to each and every student. Language lab is established with all modern equipment enabling students improve their communication skills. A computerized Library with well-stacked volumes of books and journals, quenches the intellectual thirst of the students. Vast playgrounds and a multi-station gymnasium keep the students fit and healthy. Separate hostels are there for boys and girls.
Library: MSEC Central Library provides a unique ambiance for the students to study. It is having an integrated approach to both the Engineering & Management program. It collectively supports the teaching-research of the Institute, through its various library services, which have been introduced, such as Literature Search, Inter Library Loan, Reference Service, Content Digitization, News-clipping Service, Current Awareness Service, User Orientation etc. Our Central Library is also, well equipped with an internet browsing, which gives the students unlimited virtual access to various subscribed, digital academic resources. Library Computerization: It is well computerized using the World class Library Management Operation Systems, i.e. KOHA software, whose unique feature is the OPAC, which gives a remote access to browse through the books & Online Journals.
Sports Facility: Besides the academic activities Students would like together attention relieved and focused on fun and physique. Sports activities help the students to keep them fit both mentally and physically. The institution provides abundant facilities for the students to get accustomed with the varied sports activities like Basket Ball, Football , Hockey, Cricket, Throw ball, Ball-badminton,Kabbadi,Aesthetics,Kho-Kho,Volley Ball and indoor games like Badminton,Chess, Carom, Table Tennis and Weight-lifting. Our students know all the angles, to bring laurels to the college and themselves.
Cafeteria: The multi-cuisine cafeteria of the college is a two-storied building which kindles the taste sense and caters to the hunger needs of Guests, Inmates, Visitors, Staff & Students. It can accommodate 200 members to dine at a time. The cafeteria offers a wide medley of hygienic, nutritious South Indian Vegetarian and Non-vegetarian wholesome edible food. Arrangement has been made for the boys & girls to dine separately.
Hostel Facility
Hostel Facilities Available: Full-fledged hostel facilities for boys & girls students have been established inside the campus.It also provides good and safe facilities of lodging and boarding to cater to the needs of outstation students. It has full fledged facilities with STD, ISD, Gymnasium, a reading room and a computer room. The students are monitored with their well being by an efficient and qualified custodian.
