The Government First Grade College, Yagati, was started in 2007 as an undergraduate college and it was affiliated to Kuvempu University. The college caters to the academic needs of economically and socially backward sections of Yagati and neighboring villages. In the beginning year there was only BA course, in the next academic year 2008-09 BBM course was started.
The GFGC Yagati Library and Information Center came in to existence in the year 2007. The library acts as a nerve center catering to the needs of the students and faculty members of Arts, commerce and management . The library has been shaped as a centre of excellence for academic activities and management with the view to provide up-to-date knowledge.
