The origin of the MANDIA ANCHALIK COLLEGE(MAC) dates back to 1981 when the historical Assam agitation was on fire. It was the long cherished dream of the local people who were aspirants of higher education for their offspring. The intense desires and untiring efforts of our founding fathers lit the light when the college started its first academic session in September 1981 with arts faculty under a thatched roof in the premises of the Mandia High School with the eminent educationist and ex-minister of Govt. of Assam, Late Atuar Rahman as the principal. The College, being affiliated to Guwahati University, has been imparting higher education in one programme i.e. Under Graduate (U.G) programme. The College has been accredited in the grade 'C' by NAAC in the year 2004.Since then the college has been imparting higher education among the youths of this backward and remote area.
