BHANDARKARS' ARTS & SCIENCE COLLEGE, Kundapura is a first grade college of Arts, Science and Commerce. This College came into existence mainly as a result of the munificent donation of Rs.2,00,000 by Dr.A.S. Bhandarkar who was then practicing as a doctor at Bahrain, Persian Gulf. Many leading citizens of Kundapura and Rotary Club of Kundapura strove hard for the opening of this college which was a long felt need of the taluk. With the co-operation of the public of Kundapura (managed by BASC Trust),Academy of General Education, Manipal took up the responsibility of rearing this institution. The College is re-accredited 'A' by NAAC in the year 2011.
Library: The Bhandarkars’ College Library is house in spacious three storied building in Southern part of the campus. The new Sri Venkatraya Bhandarkar Memorial Library is housed in late Smt. Usha H Shantaram Memorial building, with a floor area of 25,000 sq. ft. with 350 seating capacity.The in house activities of the library have been computerized using ‘Easylib’ Software. A Barcoded system of issue and return of books is currently in use. Signature via electronic pad is introduced. Undisrupted power supply facility is available for circulation and internet facility. Two terminals are provide at the entrance that can be used to gain information regarding status of availability and particulars of any book. The library is under CCTV camera surveillance. A separate library section is provided exclusively for the post graduate students.
Central Computing facility: The Central Computing facility is provided for all the students to carry out their general computing activities such as preparing presentations, project documentation etc. Even the students can enhance their basic knowledge about computer usage.Central computing center also contains many digitized text books and study materials, digitized question papers other useful packages such as encyclopedia and dictionaries. By using these materials and packages students can use it as a digital library.
Canteen: The college canteen provides breakfast, lunch hygienically prepared during the working hours to teachers and students.
Student Service Centre: The Student Service Centre is established to provide the needs of the students and staff of the college. It provides text books, and other stationery materials at concessional rates.
Banking Facility: Syndicate bank's Vaderhobli branch is located on the campus.
Hostel Facility
Hostel Facilities Available: A well furnished ladies hostel facility, close to the college within the campus serves the needs of outstation lady students. A hostel has 36 rooms with an intake capacity of 54 inmates. Besides this, the hostel has a common recreation hall, the visitors lounge, the study room, the dining hall and the laundry room. A cable connected television set with multi-channel viewing facility is provided in the hostel. The college provides the inmates of the hostel sports materials for indoor games such as Carom, Chess, and Table Tennis.
