The new Miraj Education Society was formed by a group of visionary people from different business streams. The vision was to provide qualitative educational facilities to the students of Miraj City and surrounding area. Gradually the society is now running different educational institutions like schools- school for slow learners and " Shri Balwantrao Marathe High-School The college is affiliated to Shivaji University, Kolhapur. The college was established in view to provide education in the faculty of Arts and commere to the girls from sub - urban and rural areas around Miraj city. Today with all the modern facilities and technology, the college is known as one of the leading colleges in Shivaji University, Kolhapur.
