Mata Ganga Khalsa College for Girls, Manji Sahib, Kottan (Ludhiana) owes its grandeur to the great vision and far sightedness of the great and illustrious President of Shiromani Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee, Sri Amritsar, S.Gurcharan Singh Ji Tohra to build equal opportunities for education, work and service for women in times when, particularly, women education was considered to be a taboo. He wanted to regenerate mankind and transform the society through value based women education. His aim was to bring about social, moral and spiritual upliftment of humanity through women education. Thus, it became a pioneer institution of the chain & generated a climate for the Education of Women and provided a powerful and moral support for the establishment of other Shiromani Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee Institutions in Punjab. Inspired by the motivating principles of Mata Ganga Ji revered wife of Guru Arjun Dev Ji and mother of Sh. Guru Hargobind Rai Ji, this college was established in the year 1997 by the Shiromani Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee, Sri Amritsar, to commemorate the Tricentenary of The Khalsa Panth. This College is situated at the Sacred Place of Gurdwara Manji Sahib, where the Sixth Guru of Sikhs, Shri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji stopped here on his way back from Gwalior Fort after setting free 52 hill rulers.
Library: The college library is an important hub of campus life and it is fully computerized with more than ten thousand books. Here, students can check out books, conduct their research, find a quiet place to study, and may be even flip through a magazine. Students can study alone in the noise free ambiance,use reference material and to meet their study group.
Cafeteria: The cafeteria of our college cater for refreshment and fresh eatables to the students, faculty and the operating staff respectively. The cafeterias is very spacious in order to accommodate huge number of students and also have comfortable sitting arrangement. The whole ambiance of the cafeteria is so soothing and delightful that it tempt students to come here again and again. Cafeteria has a separate hall attached with the Main Hall especially for the staff and faculty members.
Gymnasium: Gym classes provide students with physical exercise on a consistent basis.It is particularly important for the physical well-being of students who do not engage in physical activities outside of school.A good physical education class will feature activities that raise the heart rate, increase the pulse rate and rev up metabolism.
Seminar Hall: External Chief Guests on variouslatest topics are regularly invited to deliver lectures to our students, thusour students are exposed to the recent Technology/Trend. Faculty DevelopmentProgramme is conducted in the Seminar Hall, to update the Knowledge of ourFaculty Members. External Chief Guests are invited to our campus to givespeeches on Personality Development programs so that our students can learn howto develop their personality. Seminar hall has the seating capacity of 100members. Moreover, this hall is utilized for conductingmeetings, Seminars and Point Presentations of various departments.
