The College was established in the year 1964 by a galaxy of eminent men to fulfil the long cherished dream of the Malankara Orthodox Christian Community to dedicate themselves to the service of God and man.
The college now offers Under Graduate programmes in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Malayalam, Commerce, Zoology, Botany, English, Economics and Politics & Post-Graduate courses in English, Commerce, Economics, Physics and Chemistry and Research Programme in English. With the starting of B.Com (Office Management and Secretarial Practice) in 1996, the college has entered a new phase of vocationalisation of education.
Library & Reading Room:The College Library has a vast collection of books on various subjects and students are expected to make extensive use of it.
Baselius College Staff Co-operative Bank:The Baselius College Staff Co-operative Society is a bank that belongs to all the members of the staff, teaching and non-teaching.
Baselius College Co-operative Store:The Baselius College Co-operative Society No. K. 501 was established in 1976. The society functions to attain the following objectives:-
(1) to encourage the spirit of co-operation, thrift and self reliance among its members (2) to introduce small saving schemes for the economic progress of the socieyt and its members (3) to sell books and stationery and other articles to the members at subsidised rate and (4) to impart training in trades like tailoring, book binding etc. to students.

Womens Hostel: A long cherished dream of the Institution, the construction of a Women's Hostel, has now become a reality. The UGC sponsored Hostel can house around 100 girl students and it started functioning from 4th June 2012. The two new floors recently built over the present instrumentation block will solve much of our space constraints.
