Don Bosco College, Itanagar is the 1st private owned degree college in entire Arunachal Pradesh. It was established in the year 2002 at Jollang village (4 kms from Itanagar) and it has permanent affiliation from Rajiv Gandhi University located at Rono Hills, Doimukh.Don Bosco College is an educational institution of the Catholic Church belonging to and managed by the Salesians of Don Bosco Educational Society (registered under the societies Registration Act of 1890: No. 50 SR/ITA/4034). The college has been included in the list of Colleges prepared under section 2(f) and 12 (B) of the UGC Act 1956 of Govt. of India. The College is also a centre for Distance Education (UG Courses) of the Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU), Arunachal Pradesh.
The College has a well-furnished library with hundreds of books dealing with various topics relating to various departments. There is a full-time librarian to assist the staff and the students.
Hostel Facility
Don Bosco College has a boys’ hostel present within the campus with the maximum capacity of 46 seats but lacks a girls’ hostel at present. There are a number of affordable private hostels outside the campus both for boys and girls, so the accommodation is not an issue for far away students who want to take admission in the college.
Scholarship Facility
Stipend is provided to the students belonging to the Scheduled Tribes of Arunachal Pradesh (APST), as per the norms of Government of Arunachal Pradesh. There is also a provision of Scholarship for bright students who perform well in the University examinations every year. Students obtaining more than 60% marks (in every subject) in the University examination will be awarded Don Bosco Scholarship.
