North Gauhati College is situated at North Guwahati, a place endowed with scenic natural beauty. The college campus spreads over a large area covering 33 bighas of land with a pisciculture tank on the side of the main academic building. Away from the din and bustle of city environment, the college being located in a rural environment surrounded by lush green vegetation offers education in a pollution free homely atmosphere.
Classrooms are spacious having all the required amenities.
Laboratories are well equipped and almost all required amenities are available.
The library was established along with the college way back in 1962. It has all facilities available like any other modern library. There are separate reading rooms for students and teachers. The documents in the library are well arranged. The library is well equipped with a good number of text books, reference materials, xerox facilities, internet with fully open access facilities automated with the help of library oriented software SOUL 2.08 (software for university library) network version.
The College has a canteen within the campus for the refreshment of the teaching , non teaching staff and students of the college.
Swahid Dhanbar Das Auditorium,North Gauhati college is equipped with all the necessary amenities and facilities.
The college has a big well maintained playground where football and cricket matches are held regularly.
The college has a water tank which earns revenue for the college.
All the Departments, Library, and Office have internet facilities and WiFi is in Modem itself.
The cooperative society functions in a room attached to the auditorium of the college. The teaching and non- teaching staff are members and share holders of the co-operative. Stationery items including pen, pencil, note books, paper etc. are made available to the students, teachers and staff of the college at a subsidized rate.
The college has two Xerox centres. Students, teachers and employees of the Institution can avail the facility at a subsidized rate.
Hostel Facility
A Girls’ hostel has been constructed in the college campus ,with the financial assistance of UGC. It has started functioning from August, 2015. The accommodation capacity of the hostel is 24.
