Tezpur College, one of the premier colleges of Assam, came in to existence in the year 1965 due to untiring efforts of Late Dulal Chandra Bhattacharjee, a doyen of teaching and legal community of Assam. He was also the founder president of the college. Started as an evening college for the benefit of poor students and housed in Tezpur Academy, the College was later shifted to the present site on the flank of the famous picturesque hillock of Agnigarh in 1968.
Central Library: The Chandra Mohan Medhi Library of the college is a well- equipped Central library with an audio- visual section along with a spacious reading room.
