Alphonsa College is a religious minority institution owned and managed by the Catholic Diocese of Pala. The institution is at present run under the efficient stewardship of the Patron, His Excellency Mar Joseph Kallarangattu, Bishop of Pala; The management of the College is vested in a Managing Board.
Library:There are about 38,173 books, 108 journals and periodicals, as well as seven newspapers (five Malayalam and two English) available in the library.The Open Access system, the Dewey Decimal Classification system and the Classified Catalogue Code systems are used in the library. The library also caters to other learning and reference needs of the students.Several Departments such as the Zoology, Botany and Clinical Nutrition Departments have separate Department libraries.
Chapel:There is a magnificent chapel attached to the College where the students can spend time in tranquil meditation and prayer. Arrangements for Retreats, Adoration and Holy Mass on first Fridays are also provided.
Canteen: There is a college canteen within the campus which serves light refreshments and lunch to students and staff on all working days.
College store: The college has a books -cum-stationery store functioning within the campus.
The store sells stationery goods, textbooks, question banks etc.
Public Telephone: There is a public telephone facility available in the campus, attached to the college store. Ph: 201901
Photostat: The college provides photostat services to both staff and students. The xerox copying charges are fixed at the minimum which is just enough to support operational costs.
Health Centre: The College has a holistic health centre where counselling and first aid are provided.In addition Yoga classes are also conducted.
Video Facility: Video cassettes of educational programmes are screened regularly in the college. This service is managed by the College library.
Language Lab: There is a fully equipped language lag where Spoken English classes and classes in Communicative English ar arranged with the help of audio CDs and other interactive software.
Computer Centre: The Computer Centre which offers a number of courses is open to the students of Alphonsa College as well as the outstation candidates
Grievance Redressal Cell: There is a Grievance Redressal Cell in the College as a facilitating agency to tackle the problems faced by the staff and students and to ensure their general well-being.
Value Education: Alphonsa College believes in imparting spiritual and moral values to its students along with academic learning. With a view to inculcate a deep sense of values for life in the students, value education classes are offered once a week to all students.
Hostel Facility
There are five hostels attached to the college under the efficient management of different religious congregations - Sacred Heart, Carmel, Adoration, Alphonsa and Assumption. Here the residential students learn the valuable lessons of discipline, co-operation and tolerance so essential to community living.
