Balarampur College is situated at the heart of a tribal belt in the southern part of Purulia and it is a co-educational institution. It was established in the year 1985 (vide G.O. No. 1289 Edn.(Cs) dt.19.9.85) to impart education at Degree Level. It started Tow- Year Degree Arts General Course from the Session 1985- 86 with the affiliation to the University of Burdwan. Since then the college has been running smoothly with nearly 2000 (two thousand) students.
