The Arts College was inaugurated on August 28, 1919. It was temporarily housed in eight rented buildings in Gunfoundry area with 25 teachers and 225 students in the Intermediate first year class. SirRoss Masood was the first Principal of the college.

COMPETITIVE EXAMINATION COACHING CENTRE: Osmania University was selected by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi to start a coaching scheme for minorities in 1984 in compliance with point 11 of the Prime Minister’s 15-point programme. Later, the Department of Social Welfare, Government of Andhra Pradesh, came forward with coaching programmes for S.C. and S.T. candidates.
ARTS COLLEGE SEMINAR LIBRARY: The Postgraduate College Library was set up in the old assembly hall of Arts College building after shifting the main library of Osmania University to the newly constructed building in 1963.
HEALTH CENTRE: The University Health centre is located on the university campus near the ‘B’ hostel building.
COMPUTER CENTRE: The centre has 44 computers which are in LAN and all computers are Internet connected through 256 KBPS Leased line.
POST OFFICE: Osmania University Post Office is located behind Arts College. The building is a miniature version of the Arts College building.
STATE BANK OF HYDERABAD: It has extension counters at the Centre for Distance Education, Examination Branch, University College of Engineering and CIEFL.

Hostel Facility
Osmania University provides hostel accommodation for the students coming from outside Hyderabad. Seats are provided subject to availability. There is a separate hostel for ladies.
