Lohiya in 1983 A.D.Indian Academy of Acupuncture Science runs a recognized study centre of - a) Karnataka State Open University and b) Vinayaka Mission University Tamilnadu. Both universities are U.C.G. recognized universities. For academic activities the academy is also affiliated to The International Open University of Complimentary Medicines- Medicina Alternativa which in turn is recognized by United Nations Peace University.
