Christ College (Jagdalpur), was founded in 2001 by Carmelities of Mary Immaculate (CMI), with a view to blend sacred and secular education. It is a self-financing religious minority institution for higher education affiliated to BASTAR VISHWAVIDYALAYA, JAGDALPUR.Christ College provides its students with the best infrastructure possible in terms of Science Laboratories, Computer Labs, Internet facility, Library and reading rooms, Sports and Games Court, Arts and Cultural facilities, spacious classrooms and Audio-visual aids in teaching and learning.
Play Ground:The college supports the students in their coursework and research needs through Library, Computing, Photocopying and Printing facilities. The college Library has a collection of over 15,000 books from various disciplines and 160 journals to meet the academic requirements. Library is being automated after which the entire dealing would become computerised. The students can then search for books and access them.
Computer Labs and Internet:The college has 3 Computer Labs, well equipped with the state of the art technology. The labs can accommodate 60 students. With a view to integrate information technology to the curriculum, broadband Internet facility is provided inside the Library hall and the staff room. 19 Broadband and Wi-Fi connections are provided throughout the campus with the NME Project of the Central Government.
English Language Lab: The college has a Language Lab, a student can improve his English language with the help of computers. The lab can accommodate 30 students.
Prayer Hall: Students at Christ, Jagdalpur come from a variety of ethnic and religious backgrounds. The College tries to make provision for everyone to observe their religious practices by providing prayer facilities. The College provides a serene and calm atmosphere to those who wish to spend time in silence, reflection and prayer.
Canteen: The college runs a canteen inside the campus where staff and students can have meals and snacks prepared in a hygienic manner and at an affordable cost. The college administration is keen to avoid junk food and other unhygienic fast food in the canteen. The food wastes of the canteen are converted into biogas to supplement cooking gas at the canteen. The Canteen is equipped with a solar water heater to conserve energy.
Vehicle Parking Zone: The college has two different parking zones for bikes.
