K. P. B. Hinduja College of Commerce was established in 1974 by late Shri Parmanand Deepchand Hinduja who was a harmonious blend of philanthropy and mercantile activities. The institution functions under the guidance of the Hinduja Foundation which is a part of the Hinduja Group that was established in 1914. Over the years the college has literally and figuratively grown from strength to strength. It started with a student strength of 400 in 1974 and has reached a figure of about 6100 at this point in time, while the number of teachers has increased from 12 up to 105. The college which started with a single Commerce course today offers 25 courses from the Higher Secondary up to the Doctorate level and includes both the Commerce, Science and Arts streams.
