The P.N. Panicker Ayurveda Medical College is situated at Parakalai in Hosdurg Taluk Kasaragod District. The college premises endowed with all infra-structural facilities such as availability of water, electricity, proximity to district Head quarters, accessibility to Mangalore Air port. At present 50 seats are allocated for BAMS Course. Almost all the departments have been settled for the five and half years BAMS courses.
Library :The Central Library is the Heart of PN Panicker Souhruda Ayurveda Medical College, Parakalai, Kanhangad. Library allows students/users to retain the reference books issued to them for 2 weeks, catering information to more than 400 users belonging to 14 departments. A rich collection of Ayurvedic and modern books in the library houses more than 10238 books, 500 bound volumes of journals and in the form of CDs and DVDs. Library has sections such as Acquisition, Circulation, Reference section, Current periodicals, Digital Library, Technical Processing, Photocopying and computer printing. The Department of Library process the proposal for procurement of books and to transfer the same to various department as per their requirements after making necessary stock entry.
Health care:Our own Medical College Hospital is at a stone's throw away distance from the College Campus. The hospital offers all facilities for the care of any medical emergencies of our people.
Post office, Communications and Bank:The Post Office at Parakalai Junction, is at a walkable distance from the College Campus. The communications are made easier too, a worry free tele connectivity would be possible because of the BSNL Mobile Tower which stands adjacent to our college building. The next big thing aimed at is a counter of a Nationalised Bank, for which already talks are on and which will be implemented very soon.
Canteen and Store:The canteen can be located attached to the Hospital building. Separate dining hall is provided for staff, students and visitors. The Canteen is in supervision of experienced caterers where they give highest priority to food hygiene. Management has also The management has a plan to start a co-operative store inside the campus to cater the daily requirements of students, such as books, stationery and other needs.
Laboratories and Museum: The college has laboratories in each department and consists of latest equipments and instruments. The raw materials are stored hygienically and the ones to be refrigerated are maintained at required temperatures. The spacious inside of the Lab gives ample room for comfortable practical session. The teachers and staff take utmost care to provide the best knowledge out of the book, and attention is paid individually to all the students.
Hostel Facility
A home away from home, that's how we call it, a Hostel. A stay in hostel provides more time for your studies, no hazel of commutation and there is always room for combined studies. The college campus is about 9KM away from Kanhangad town, students are encouraged to stay in hostel for their ease of attending classes on time which starts very early everyday. The College provides separate hostels for boys and girls, each of them with sufficient water supply and electricity. The rooms are well maintained and the Hostel mess serves healthy and hygienic food of different tastes that students would enjoy. All the necessities of Hostel inmates would be taken care by respective wardens whom they can reach for any emergency. The management is kind enough to provide conveyance to day scholars, if any.
