Sri Sairam Ayurveda Medical College and Research Centre, Chennai was established in the year of 2001 by MJF. Ln.Leo Muthu, Chairman of Sapthagiri Educational Trust which is a non-profitable and non minority institution. The College is functioning at its permanent building at Sai Leo Nagar, Poonthandalam, West Tambaram, Gateway of Chennai in a Sprawling campus of 300 acres near to the well known amusement park "Kishkinta". Imbedded with the message of Sri Shirdi Sai Baba, he ventured into the realm of providing Quality Education to both urban and rural students from India and other neighbouring countries. He has to his credit various other enterprises such as real estate, industry and various educational institutions.
Library: he library is housed in a spacious area of 4000 sq ft. with reference section, magazine section and stack area. Presently it stacks more than 12000 books and reference volumes for lending to faculty and students. The library subscribes to more than 60 specialized journals, over one third of them being international. Constant addition of titles and volumes in all fields of medicine a regular feature of the library. Every effort has been made to obtain all titles recommended by the faculty.
