Montfort College, Bangalore – affiliated to Bangalore North University – is an institute for Post Graduate studies offering programs at the Masters and Ph. D levels. Its curricula entail teaching, evaluation, therapy, counselling and research in different sub-disciplines of Psychology. The Motto of Montfort College is “Liberation with Enlightenment“. Though not long established, Montfort College maintains a strong foundation in scholarship and research which adapts effectively to cultural diversity and the needs of the youth.
There is an increased reliance on professional agencies and experts to provide support, guidance and opportunities for the individual to learn to cope and equip themselves with skills to meet demands, and safe interactions for seeking counsel. The programmes at Montfort College aim at helping and equipping students with both conceptual inputs and hands on skills training to recognize, identify and respond effectively to the needs of individuals and social systems in the present society.
Psychology Laboratory and Assessment Facilities: The college has a well-equipped Psychology lab to enable to the students and staff in learning and research. The psychology lab is an area where students can learn the use of various tests and assessments to be effective psychologists. Specially designed assessment rooms provide staff and students the opportunity to conduct assessments in a standardized and conducive atmosphere.
Library and Information Centre: The library caters to a wide range of reading requirements. It has a large collection of books on Psychology and Counselling apart from books of general interest. The library has OPAC facility which enables easy access to books. The students and faculty also have access to e-books and online journals to provide varied sources of up-to-date information pertaining to the field.This enables on-going professional development of our students and faculty.
Sports & Leisure Activities: To foster interest in sporting activities among the students, the college has provided facilities for both outdoor and indoor games. Basketball, Volleyball, Throw ball, Badminton and indoor sports like Table Tennis, and other board games are available on campus. The College Sports Day is normally held during the month of March /April every year. The large compound with its lush greenery and orchard provide a very relaxing environment for the students to spend their leisure time.
Cafeteria: A cafeteria is available at the college premises and remains open at designated times from Monday to Saturday. Breakfast and lunch are provided on request. Tea, coffee and snacks are also provided.
Health Services: The college has a supply of medications that can be used for ordinary ailments as well as for urgent First Aid purposes. Two well-equipped hospitals (C V Raman General Hospital and Chinmaya Mission Hospital) are within walking distance. College has a list of Doctors who are available on call.
ATM: ATM facility available within the campus provides easy access to money transactions for staff and students.
Hostel Facility
Hostel Facilities Available: A well-managed hostel facility is available for female and male students separately, within our campus. For female students the hostel facility is provided in “Montfort College Annex” and for male students it is arranged on the third floor of the college building. Students are accommodated either in single occupancy rooms or in twin-sharing rooms. Hostel facility is allotted on “first come first served” basis.
