The Ajit Educational & Public Welfare society is promoted by the experienced persons having the spirit of service in the field of medical education and allied areas. The society has its Head office at Sunam, Distt. Sangrur, on Jakhal Road. The medical and nursing education has tremendous growth prospects in Punjab keeping in the view the trend of the young generation for the professional knowledge in the field of the medical and nursing. The society was incorporated on 22nd day of may, 2009. under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 with the sole aim of providing medical educational facilities to the population of this area. All the members of the society are well educated professionals, socially well off, and dedicated to the cause of the education.At present the state of affairs in Nursing Education is not at par with the world order of the day. Health care is the primary requirement of any civilized society. Government of India has been making all its efforts to provide health for all. The government of India is a signatory to WHO Alma Ala Declaration to provide health for all by the year 2000 A.D. although the facilities for health care to the population have still not reached the common masses is the issue & need of the hour. As such AJIT EDUCATIONAL & PUBLIC WELFARE SOCIETY has taken the venture of providing educational facilities to the students of this region. This would help to produce good citizens by providing them better education in healthy and congenial atmosphere.
Lecture Halls: Adequate in number, spacious and air conditioned, well equipped with modern teaching aids.
Laboratories: Students are acquainted with various models of human body. This lab is prepared to reinforce the theory knowledge about Human anatomy & Physiology with the help of articulated skeletal, various bones, models & charts.This lab is used in order to infuse the confidence in students and make them learn effective communication skills. This lab ensures the students to learn home visiting bag technique. It enables them to practice the community health nursing while providing family health care at the door step of the clients using modified home visiting kits. The lab is equipped with updated audio visual equipment to practice health-teaching in the community.
Computer Lab: Our college has its own computer lab which is meant exclusively for nursing students. This lab is divided in two sections. One section is for ANM & GNM students, while the other one is used for B.Sc. students. The lab has 60 computers in it. Students are continuously encouraged to use the computer lab intensively. Practical knowledge of computers is a must in the current times. This lab is used by the students to practice the application of computers in the field of nursing.
Library: Nursing College Library and Learning resource center is an invaluable resource for students, researchers and faculties of Nursing education. It has the most complete collection of text & reference books, audio-video material, films, charts, professional journals and Magazines. It is a most lively place in the college providing a comfortable and readers friendly environment that enables learning and advancement of knowledge, and promotes scholarship.The fully air-conditioned and Wi-Fi enabled library and learning resource center provides access to the best of nursing related resources through its acquisition of various books, journals, online databases consisting of scholarly and nursing education and service related content. The learning resource center is coordinating point between the faculty and students which is supported by highly skilled and trained library and information professionals.
Lecture Theater: Nursing College has spacious well furnished, air conditioned and sound proof class rooms with facility of wall mounted LCD projectors, which helps in making the live and inspiring learning environment for the students.
Transportation Facility: Ajit Educational and Public Welfare Society (Regd) maintains a fleet of vehicles including several buses to transport students to their respective study centers and to their respective hostel. The transport facility is also provided to students and the staff of the institute from different places of Sunam and surrounding area. The buses are also provided to the students for University related works, fests and for sports and cultural competitions held in different institutes.
Sports and Games Facility: The Institute managed by Ajit Educational and Public Welfare Society (Regd) provides Sports Facilities like Shuttle badminton court, and Basket ball. Indoor sports facilities for Table Tennis, Carom and Chess are also provided. All these facilities are regularly used by the students and staff of the institute to keep good health and fitness.The students of the institute managed by the Society regularly participate in inter- collegiate tournaments in various sports and games events both within the University area and outside the University.
Canteen: Ajit Educational and Public Welfare Society (Regd) campus has a spacious Canteen facility for the benefit of staff and students of the institute and it is run by an experienced Caterer of repute. The Canteen is having a modern kitchen equipped with facilities for hygienic food preparation. Vegetarian foods and soft drinks, ice creams and snacks are provided in the canteen at nominal cost.
Hostel Facility
Hostel Facilities Available: The hostel is supervised and managed by well qualified and experienced Wardens. A safe and comfortable stay with adequate facilities of kitchen and dining, communication room with internet facility, telephone and Photostat along with first-aid room and a room for visitors. Here the students can keep themselves abreast with the events happening around the world. Hostels also have a separate Study room and a lobby. The hostel also has lobby servants to cater the small needs of the students along with round the clock security.
