The school of Life Sciences of Institute of Science, GITAM comprises of the departments of (1) Biochemistry (2) Biotechnology (3) Microbiology and Food Science & Technology and (4) Environmental Studies. The school offers one graduate programme in Environmental Management, six post graduate courses and an integrated course through the constituent departments. Presently 31 well qualified, experienced faculty members are working in the school and several of them have expertise and postdoctoral exposure in advanced laboratories of USA, UK, Canada, Europe and many other countries.
All the departments of the school have well equipped laboratories and other infrastructural facilities to carry out the research programmes in advanced and specialized areas of life sciences. Well defined academic curricula was developed with the active participation of all the experienced faculty members. Detailed information regarding specialized research labs and the available facilities has been incorporated department wise in their respective profiles.
