Vector Control Research Centre (VCRC)established in Puducherry in July 1975, is one of the permanent institutes under the Indian Council of Medical Research, Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India, New Delhi. Health Organization (WHO) has designated the VCRC as a collaborating Centre for Research and Training in Lymphatic filariasis and Integrated Methods of Vector Control. It is recognized as a centre of excellence for research and training in vector-borne diseases and control by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India.
