The Nilgiri Planters Association, in commemoration of their centenary year 1991 formed a trust in the name of NPA Centenary Charitable trust with laudable objectives. The NPA Polytechnic College is a project launched by the trust with the object of improving the quality of l ife of words of the plantation workers apart from benefiting students from the local community within the guidelines of the Government of Tamil Nadu. Harmonious development of the body, mind and soul is emphasized with discipline, hard work and team work so that ultimately the students will rise to the ideal of "ARISE AND SHINE".
NPA Centenary Polytechnic is located at Sakthi Hills, Kotagiri. The institution commands a beautiful view being on the highest point and is spread over an area of 20 acres. A pleasant peaceful atmosphere prevailing over the hills presents the students a unique opportunity for study and personality development
The library has the collection of more than 5300 reference and text books, periodicals, video and audio cassettes and CD ROM diskettes. To open opportunities for the students to develop their communicative skills, there is a separate provision made under the name CIICP. There are reference books and text books made available for the students and from time to time a number of books are added to motivate the students who are interested in frantic pursuit of knowledge.
Placement Cell was started during the academic year 2000 - 2001. The placement cell is taking steps to interact with nearby industries to promote job opportunities for the students. This cell is arranging at least two industrial visits per semester per class. The placement cell has contacts with the following companies to help students to get job opportunities.
