Valivalam Desikar Polytechinic College Is One Of The Few Polytechnics Started Functioning As A Grant-In-Aid Institution In 1958 Under Second Five Year Plan With Three Diploma Courses Of Three Year Duration In Civil, Electrical And Mechanical Engineering. Valivalam Desikar Polytechinic College Aims To Increase The Regions Competitiveness By Preparing Diploma Holders To Move Directly Into Professional And Technical Careers. The Valivalam Desikar Polytechnic College was established in the year 1958 under the auspices of the Valivalam Desikar Educational Trust. Our founder Thiru K.M.Desikar, B.A., a noted Philanthropist, established this institution with the aim of giving technical education to the rural students mostly of agrarian families. The revenue return from the wet lands of the trust is the source to meet a portion of management share of the recurring expenditure of the polytechnic college. The remaining portion of the recurring and non-recurring expenditure for the development activities are met from the State government grant.

	Eligibility S.S.L.C( 10 years or 11 years ); The Anglo Indian High School Examinations.; The Matriculation Examination of Tamilnadu or Central Board of Secondary course.; Any other Examination recognized as equivalent to the Board of secondary Education, Tamilnadu, Special Reservation.
