Indian Maritime University - Kandla Port Campus was initiated under the dynamic leadership of Shri P.D. Vaghela, Chairman, KPT and Dr P. Vijayan, the then Vice Chancellor, IMU. It started functioning since 22nd August 2011 with 30 cadets for one year Diploma In Nautical Science. The university is grateful to Kandla Port Trust for their continued support and co-operation at all stages for the development of the campus.IMU Kandla Port Campus aims to achieve a high degree of excellence in the field of marine and logistics education.
The entire expenses for creation of infrastructure facilities for campus were borne by Kandla Port Trust.
