Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises-Development Institute (MSME-DI), Ranchi a field Institution office of the Development Commissioner (MSME) under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Govt. of India, has been playing a key role for development of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises through counseling, consultancy and training. It was Established in 1960 as Small Industries Service Institute Extension Centre, thereafter upgraded as Small Industries Service Institute in 1975 and renamed as MSME-Development Institute since June, 2007 as a follow up of the merger of the two Ministries of Small Scale Industries and Agro & Rural Industries into a newly form Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.
The Institute has made significant contributions for promotion and development of MSME in Jharkhand. The Institute strives to achieve its avowed objective through a gamut of operations ranging from training, consultancy, buyer-seller meet, vendor development programme as well as various awareness and modernization programmes.
