RCPIT was set up as part of one of the self powered projects of Shirpur Education Society in 2001 with an objective to erect a truly world class institute in the rural vicinity where students from every sort of background would be benefited from the facilities that matched global standards. RCPIT was conceived by Hon. Shri. Amrishbhai R. Patel, the former cabinet minister for School Education, sports and youth welfare for Maharashtra State.The institute is approved by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi and is affiliated to the North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon (accredited 4-star status by NAAC,Bangalore).
