In the academic year 1991-92 the School started its academic activity in Government Polytechnic, Jalgaon.After the construction of few buildings on University Campus at Umavi Nagar, the School was initially shifted in the building of School of Chemical Sciences and finally, on October 2, 1997 in its own building.
Laboratory Facilities:The Central Sophisticated Instrumentation Laboratory of the School of Physical Sciences has the state of the art material characterization facilities. All these facilities are extensively utilized by students, teachers and researchers in and around the University.
Computing Infrastructure/Facilities: The Department of Physics has Central Internet and Computational Facilities. It has about 40 computers which are extensive used by the Researchers and students for their practical and projects as well as for using the internet facility. The Department of Electronics has Central Internet and Computational Facilities. It has about 40 computers which are extensive used by the Researchers and students for their practical and projects as well as for using the internet facility.
Library Facilities
Departmental Library (Department of Physics): The Department has set up a Departmental Library in 2008. The library has more than 424 text-books and reference books and Digital Library with high-end computers connected parallel to University's VSAT and Internet facilities.
Departmental Library (Department of Electronics):The Department has set up a Departmental Library in 2008. The library has more than 350 text-books and reference books and five Journals for M.Sc. students and Research Scholars and Digital Library with high-end computers connected parallel to University's VSAT and Internet facilities.
