First ever University College worldwide of the Don Bosco Society, established in 1934, is Certified As Green Campus.Recognized by UGC as a College with Potential for Excellence.St. Anthony's College, Shillong, an educational institution of the Catholic Church, belonging to and managed by Salesians of the Don Bosco Educational Society which is registered under the Societies Regulation Act of 1860 (No SR/SDB-117/73 of 1973 and No SR/SAC-227/91 of 1991). Though primarily meant for Catholic students, it is open to all students irrespective of religion or community.The Department of Fishery Science is the only department of its kind in the North Eastern Hill University. The department is not only training students at the UG level but has been actively involved in research. It is one of the few departments that are dynamically working in with fish farmers in villages as part of its extension activities, to provide support, capacity building and popularizing the scientific method of fish culture in these villages. The department is also enthusiastically caught up with result oriented research, to sustain the academic interest of the faculty and students.
The College maintains a well-stocked, Computarised Library with over 40,000 volumes. Spacious reading rooms with over 60 journals and 12 newspapers are provided at the library complex.The reference section is open during the college hours. The library also provides Internet facility to the staff and students of the College, making assignment-based teaching an enjoyable activity.
Hostel Facility
Stephen Hall is a boys' hostel for the students of St. Anthony's College.Hostel facilities are not available for the morning shift students and for girls.
Scholarship Facility
Scholarship are offered by the college and Donors every year to the college at the University Examinations.
The College has a Placement Cell and a full time Placement Co-ordinator who looks after the job placements of the Students of the College. Many of the Graduates and Post Graduates have got placements in well known companies and institutes. Some of the prominent ones are HCL, Wipro, NIIT, HDFC, HCL
