It was the dream of the first Bishop of Marthandam His Grace Most Rev. Lawrence Mar Ephraem, to establish and provide a tertiary education for students who have completed Secondary education. Consequently the Mar Ephraem College of Engineering and Technology was established in 2009 at Elavuvilai, just outside of Marthandam.
