KGF first Grade College established in 1962, is located in Kolar Gold Fields (KGF), Kolar District of Karnataka. Once famous for its Gold Mines, this semi urban township now has other National level organisations like The Bharat Earth Movers Ltd and National Institute of Rock Mechanics functioning from here.
The populace of the place is a mixture of different language groups with a cosmopolitan character. A major segment of the people is mining labour and their dependents. The closure of the Mining Company, Bharat Gold Mines Ltd. had put them into misery. According to population census 80% of the people of KGF belong to Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes. Economic status of the majority of the people is also weak. KGF First Grade College mainly fulfills the higher educational needs of this community. As the major institution of its kind for conventional higher education in KGF, even in the midst of numerous hurdles the College holds on to its vision of uplifting the down trodden and providing them with quality education at an affordable cost.

Health Centre: The health center is established to cater the needs of the students when the need arises. First aid will be given in this center when the students get any health problems. A Doctor visits the campus three days a week.
Canteen: The College has an excellent canteen with modern amenities. It caters to the requirements of the students parents and the visitors.
