In this age of information Technology the discipline 'Optoelectronics' has its significance and relevance. Making an impact through Research, Training, Technology Innovation and Service to Society is the vision of the Department. Department of Optoelectronics is established in 1995 under Faculty of Applied Sciences. The Department now offers M.Tech Electronics and Communication (Optoelectronics and Optical Communication), M.Phil (Photonics) and PhD (Optoelectronics) programmes. Today the Department has a vibrant student body consisting of Research Scholars, M.Tech students and M.Phil students, over 70% of them are supported by scholarships. The Department published about 79 papers in International Journals during the last five years and received nearly 250 citations. Students of the Department received several best paper awards in International and National seminars and conferences .Department of Optoelectronics is offering M.Tech, M. Phil. and Ph.D. programs. Most of the students passed out from this Department are well placed in reputed institutions
Library :Total number of books is 1600. The collection includes most rare and valuable books in the areas of Optoelectronics, Laser technology, Fibre optics, Fibre optic communication, Fibre optic sensors, Signal processing, Non linear optics, Image processing, Nanotechnology, Holography, Optical networks etc. Library has 14 journals (Indian & Foreign) in these areas and e-resources online journals
