After securing the State Government permission and affiliation from the University of Pune, the IASE was established in the academic year 2003-04. Making a modest beginning with 53 students, gradually it emerged into a reputed center of post-graduate teaching and research attracting students from more than twenty countries and from all the Indian States. It soon achieved the maximum intake capacity of 230 students enrolled for M.A., M. Phil. and Ph. D. in English.
Library : The IASE has an excellent library with carefully chosen titles in various subjects, including computers, literature, criticism and linguistics.
