Chandra Sekhar College, Champua is a multi-faculty UG institute having served more than 37 years. It started functioning in 1977 first in intermediate courses and later upgraded to UG course in 1979 as the first higher educational institute to cater the needs of the rural youth of the locality in this tribal sub plan backward subdivision in the modest part of the district Keonjhar in the state of Odisha.
The college is located about300 km to the north of the capital Bhubaneswar in the direction of the route to the district head quarter keonjhar and border to Jharkhand state. Champua, a rural, remote and an old sub-division at the juncture is adjacent to Mayurbhanj district to the east and Sundargarh district to the west. The college spreads over 25 acres of land divided into play ground, plantation and infrastructural areas.
Conference Hall: The College has a separate conference hall with a capacity to accommodate 120 persons, the hub of all intellectual activities.
Internet Facility: The college has a 2 MBPS broadband connectivity. The departments are networked with LAN/WAN, connecting all the labs, staff rooms and library. The Network operation centre is equipped with two IBM servers and hosts for the different software. There are more than 41 computers with latest configuration in all the labs. The campus has become a wireless campus by implementing WI-FI technology by which the students and staff of the college can access the complete network and browse internet sitting anywhere in the campus.
Central Library: The college has a central library and a reading room to cater the needs of the student and teachers. Reference Books, Text Book and Periodicals are sectionally kept separate in Almirah and Shelves. It has also a Book bank facility exclusively to the needs of the poor students.
Canteen: The College has a student-cum-faculty canteen to enable the students to interact and relax their free time and enjoy tasty and hygienic food and also to engage themselves in creative activities.
Digital Library: The Digital Library provides a huge collection of e-books, Journals and Learning Video neatly arranged under various department heads. A fully self sufficient offline version of the Digital Library is installed and functional in the college campus, so that in case non-availability of internet connection, the working of Digital Library is not hampered in providing educational resource to the students.
Wi-Fi Campus : The Computers in our college are networked and provided with wired and wi-fi network connectivity. As each of the blocks are situated some distance apart from each other, the wi-fi network connectivity enables the total Organization to work as a single unit.
Yoga : Yoga is important for the both mind and body and is important for the younger generations to keep them healthy both mentally and physically. C.S. College organises periodic Yoga classes for the student .
Hostel Facility
The college hostel is situated within the premises of the college to accommodate UG boys students.
