It is known to all that during the years 1969-1970 two colleges “Janta College’ and Shivratri College’ were running in Daltonganj. Dr. George Jacob Vice-Chancellor of Ranchi University felt the need of merging both the colleges. As a result of the continuous efforts made by the V.C., the united form of these two colleges came into existence and a new name was given “Janta Shivratri College”. Sri Paras Nath Sinha was made the principal os the college. Later, Sri Muneshwar Singh was sent by UGC as the new principal of the college.Now Janta Shivratri College is a constitutional unit of NPU. In this college, the sanctioned number of teachers is 16, no of workers is 39 and no. of students is about 10,000.
