Civil Hospital Aizawl has a humble beginning in the year 1894, like a small tent functioned as health centre for coolie and was named as 'Kuli Dispensary'.Since its establishment, Civil Hospital Aizawl continuously function as the epi-centre for training, education and resource centre for all medical, nursing and other paramedical streams. These are few lists of various Courses established under this hospital.
Library Of Civil Hospital, Aizawl is proposed to be State Medical Library and the proposal was submitted to the Secretariat of North Eastern Council, Shillong in this year. The top floor of OPD building (Block C) is earmarked for the Library room. The present librarian gets appointment in 2008 and the library is functioning from 2009.The Library is, having computerized system and internet services have been provided. Students and doctors can access the internet service for their own purposes HMIS Library software covers all the functions of library. The Library can access INFLIBNET-consortium (Gujarat, Ahmedabad).
