College of Applied Science, Calicut is an avant garde attempt in the arena of Electronics and Computer education in Malabar, initiated by the Institute of Human Resources Development (IHRD), an autonomous, scientific society established by the Govt. of Kerala. The college was established in the year 1993 and has become instrumental in new fangled waves by offering quality education with unrelenting precision and alacrity.
The College situates in a beautiful three storied building having around 4000 sq.m of floor area and houses an Electronics Lab, an Electronics Workshop, a Digital and Microprocessor Lab, a Computer Hardware Lab and three Computer Labs with full fledged hardware and software installations. All the Computer Labs are equipped with 25 machines each, fully networked and with round the clock internet facilities. One Lab is distinctively earmarked for PG courses. Students get Lab access between 8 AM and 8 PM. The College Labs caters almost all mini and major project works of students.
The college has an extensive fully computerized library dexterously arranged with textbooks, journals and periodicals, accessible to both the students and the staff between 8 AM and 7 PM on all working days. The library facility is extended, on request, to the students of other institutions as well. There is a separate section in the library for PG courses.
