Periyar Centenary Polytechnic College is a Government aided institution established in the year 1980 exclusively for girls sponsored by the Periyar Maniammai Educational and Charitable Society now known as Periyar Maniammai Institute of Science and Technology. From the year 2002 the college became a co-education institution. The institution is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and governed by the statutory norms of code and conduct stipulated by the Directorate of Technical Education (DOTE), Government of Tamil Nadu.
