UPDATE PHOTOS of Loyola College of Social Sciences

Loyola College of Social Sciences was founded by the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) in 1963, the College offers courses in M A (Sociology), MSW (Masters in Social Work), MAHRM (Masters in Human Resource Management) and MSc Counselling Psychology.
The Centre prepares students for Ph.D. in Sociology, Social work and Management Studies and also takes up sponsored research projects. A full-fledged Extension Services, Loyola Extension Services (LES) is unique feature of the College. The LES acts as the Social Lab of the College.

Loyola Library: A significant learning resource with a vision and mission.
Loyola Computer Centre: The well-equipped Computer Centre offers courses to the students and staff in the latest word processing and data analysis packages. Internet and email facilities are available.
Audio-visual Hall: An audio-visual hall with facilities of television, slide projector, LCD projector and overhead projector is available for the use of staff and students. Every two classrooms are provided with an overhead projector and is constantly used. A separate computer with multimedia facility is made available for classroom teaching and seminars.
Dr. Jose Murikkan’s Hall: Dr. Jose Murikkan’s Hall is a fully air-conditioned hall with a seating capacity of 35-40 persons is ideal for international seminars. The hall is fully equipped with all the audiovisual equipment including multimedia projectors, etc. The facility can also be used for various studies, seminars, conferences and workshops.
LES Hall: LES (Loyola Extension Services) Hall can be used to conduct training, seminars, conferences and workshops. The hall is well equipped with all types of audiovisual equipment.
Cafeteria: The College has a spacious and clean canteen run by the women Neighbourhood Group. Meals, snacks and beverages are available at a subsidized price for students as well as visitors.
Other facilities: Facility for photocopying is available within the campus. To facilitate communication requirements of students and staff a telephone booth with STD and ISD call facilities is operated in the LES Block. A mini bus caters to the transportation needs of the students. A store supplies essential stationery within the college premises. Health rooms are available for both male and female students.

Hostel Facility
Hostels: Separate hostels for men and women are available. Admissions to hostels will be made only after the student is admitted to the College.

1 .	M.A. Sociology
	Eligibility Graduate in any subject in the Faculties of Arts/Social Sciences/Science/Commerce/ Law securing not less than 45% marks in Part III optional subjects. Candidates with BCA Degree of the University of Kerala or any other University which is equivalent there to, B.Sc. Computer Science and B.B.A. are also eligible. B.Com. Degree holders are also eligible. B.Tech Degree holders are eligible for admission to Sociology

2 .	M.Sc. Psychological Counseling
	Eligibility 1. Graduates in Psychology recognised by the University of Kerala 2. Graduates in other disciplines who have studied at least one paper in Psychology/ Animal Behaviour/Animal or Human Psychology/ Child Development/ Counselling. The paper should carry a maximum marks of 100 or more or 10% of the total marks for the course or more. 3. Graduates in other discipline who have passed the one year diploma course in psychology/counselling offered/ Recognised by the University of Kerala or a B.Ed Degree as additional qualification.

3 .	Master of Human Resource Management (MHRM)
	Eligibility he eligibility for admission to MSW & MAHRM Degree courses under the University of Kerala is a pass with 50 % marks in aggregate in the degree examination (including B Tech, MBBS, BAMS, BHMS and LLB) declared by the University of Kerala as equivalent thereto with 50% in Part III in the case of BA, BSc, and BCom. The MSW & MAHRM Degree programme applicants will be assigned 40 percent proportionate weightage for the marks secured in the qualifying examination (approximated weightage of 40% subject to a maximum of 30 marks) and a valid score (30%) from the University Entrance Examination or 30% of a valid XAT/CMAT/MAT score (in the case of MAHRM) and 30% for Group Discussion and Interview (approximated to 15% and 15%=30%) to be completed for being eligible for admission.
