Eligibility Criteria :

Note

The scholarship cannot commence prior to September/October of the current year. Students currently enrolled on a joint PhD program are not eligible to apply. The scholarship cannot be held on a part-time basis.

Applications for joint PhD programs must be approved by both King’s College London and the relevant partner institution before a formal offer can be made. As such, the process may take longer than for a single PhD program. Students are able to apply for the scholarship whilst their application is being considered in order to meet the set deadline.

If final acceptance has not been received by both King's College London and the relevant partner institution by the scholarship deadline, students must have at least obtained approval from the relevant faculty/department/division within King’s College London along with provisional agreement from a supervisor within the partner institution. Proof will be requested as part of the application process.

Selection process

Once the application deadline has passed, the Postgraduate & Graduate School Support (PGSS) office will gather and record the details of all the applications received. Further information and documentation will be extracted from the university’s admissions records/student records, as necessary.

The PGSS office will check the eligibility of all applicants, and all applications that are deemed eligible will be circulated to faculties for assessment. Final decisions will be conducted by a central King’s Graduate School selection panel.

Assessment of applications will be based on:
1. Evidence and strength of academic qualifications gained and, where applicable, professional qualifications and/or relevant experience
2. Strength of the research proposal
3. Match of the applicant’s interests with his/her potential supervisors
