Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts an open competitive examination for recruitment to the post of Tax Assistant (a Group 'C' Non-Gazetted, Ministerial post) for filling up vacancies in Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) and Central Board of Excise & Customs (CBEC) departments. This is one of the demanding fields in the Government service and in each year large number of people is taking this exam.
Nationality/ Citizenship:
All Indian citizens are eligible to apply. The candidate satisfying the following criteria can also apply for the Tax assistance Entrance Exam.
(i) Subject of Nepal
(ii) Subject of Bhutan
(iii) Tibetan refugee settled in India
(iv) Person of Indian origin who has migrated to other countries
Those candidates other than Indian citizen should get an eligibility certificate from the government to attend the exam conducted by the SSC.
Educational Qualifications:
(i) Graduation in any discipline from any recognized University.
(ii) Should possess Data Entry Speed of 8,000 key Depressions per hour on Computer.
Note: Degree obtained by candidates from Open Universities/distance education will not be accepted unless the same is accompanied by a certificate that the course is recognized by Distance Education Council for the relevant period when the candidate has acquired the Graduation Degree.
Age limit: They should be within the age group of 20 – 27 years. Reserved
category applicants can benefit relaxations in age according to the Government
norms.
