DA-IICT invites applications for its post graduate programs for the academic year 2019-20.
At the post-graduate level DA-IICT offers a two year M Tech program in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) with project and thesis options, a 2 year M Des program in Communication Design (CD) and a two year MSc program in Information Technology (IT). In addition, DA-IICT also has a very rigorous and intense Doctoral program in ICT and allied disciplines, Mathematical and Computational Sciences and Humanities and Social Sciences. M Tech (Information and Communication Technology)
A candidate with a qualifying degree in any one of the following:
The aggregate marks in the qualifying Degree should not be less than 60% or equivalent as per the norm set by the Degree awarding Institute/University.
Possession of a valid GATE score in CS / EC / EE / IN / MA / PH.
Candidates appearing in their final degree examination and expecting to complete it by July 2019 may also apply. However, their final admission will be subject to the condition that they obtain an aggregate of 60% marks, or its equivalent as per the norms set by the degree granting Institute/University. All admitted candidates have to submit their degree certificates or proof of completion of degree, before 30 October 2019 failing which their admission is liable to cancellation.
MSc (Information Technology)
A Bachelor ’s degree holder from a recognized University in any stream with an aggregate of 60% marks, or its equivalent as per the norms set by the degree granting institute/university, in the qualifying degree examination is eligible to apply. Candidates appearing in their final Degree examination and expecting to complete it by July 2019 may also apply. However, their final admission will be subject to the condition that they obtain an aggregate of 60% marks, or its equivalent as per the norms set by the degree granting institute/university. All admitted candidates have to submit their degree certificates or proof of completion of Degree, before 30 October 2019.
M Des (Communication Design)
A Bachelors Degree or equivalent from a statutory university in the fields of Design, Science, Engineering, Technology, Humanities, Social Sciences, Fine Arts, Applied Arts and Performing Arts. Professional Diplomas from nationally recognized institutions such as NID, NIFT, CEPT and Srishti School of Art and Design will also be considered for eligibility. Candidates must have 55% marks or equivalent in the last qualifying degree/examination and are required to submit the provisional Degree certificate or proof of completion of Degree before 30 October 2019 failing which their admission is liable to cancellation.
DA-IICT admits doctoral students under four categories:
Category A: Candidates willing to pursue research in ICT, and related domains must possess a degree in:
The candidates should have obtained at least 60% marks or its equivalent in the qualifying degree as per the norms set by the degree awarding Institute/University.
Category B: Candidates seeking admission to PhD Program in Computational Science, Mathematics and Natural Sciences must possess the following qualification:
The candidates should have obtained at least 55% marks or equivalent as per the norm set by the degree awarding Institute/University. M Phil Degree holders will be preferred.
Category C: Candidates seeking admission to PhD Program in Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences must possess one of the following post graduate qualifications:
The Candidates should have obtained at least 55% marks or equivalent as per the norms set by the Degree awarding Institute/University. M Phil Degree holders will be preferred. The candidate must furnish a clear academic statement of purpose (SOP) conveying his/her intellectual background, research interests, achievements, and competences.
Note: Candidates with M.Sc./M.C.A., unless they have a subsequent M. Phil. degree will be considered equivalent to candidate with a B.Tech./B.E. degree and are required to fulfill additional course and research requirements.
The decision of the competent authorities of DA-IICT regarding eligibility of any candidate shall be final.
Category D (Sponsored Candidates): Candidate interested in pursuing Ph.D. in ICT and related areas must have at least 60% marks or equivalent in the qualifying degree, and must satisfy the following criteria:
DA-IICT reserves the right to relax eligible criteria for the sponsored category for deserving candidates based on candidate’s research profile and experience. The decision of DA-IICT in this regard shall be final.
The test will evaluate the candidates on their mathematical aptitude, logical reasoning, basic programming, English Comprehension. There will be negative marking for incorrect answers.
Candidates can apply on-line from the institute website. Application fee (non-refundable) is Rs. 1200/- (Rupees One thousand two hundred only).
The Candidate has to satisfy the eligibility criteria in order for her/his application to be considered for final admission.
The merit list for admission will be prepared on the basis of GATE score of candidates applying for admission. Counseling for allotment of specialization will be done online. Applicants are advised, from the date of announcement of first merit list, to check for e-mail communications from firstname.lastname@example.org to know about the specialization allotted to them and the steps they need to take to continue with the counseling process. The final admission will be on the basis of the rank in the merit list.
The candidates who have accepted admission offers will be notified to appear for registration, followed by counseling, document verification, payment of fees and on confirmation of admission, the orientation program.
Counseling will be done online. Applicants are advised, from the date of announcement of first merit list, to check for e-mail communications from email@example.com to know about the specialization allotted to them and the steps they need to take to continue with the counseling process.
