The Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani, recognized as an “Institution of Eminence” by Ministry of Education, Government of India is an all India Institution declared as Deemed to be University under Section 3 of the UGC Act. Admissions to all the Integrated First Degree programs of BITS, Pilani, at Pilani campus, K.K. Birla Goa campus, and Hyderabad Campus for the academic year 2024 will be made on the basis of a Computer based Online Test conducted by BITS, Pilani. This test will be referred to as ‘BITS Admission Test 2024’.
BITSAT shall be conducted in two sessions, Session 1 & Session 2. Online Test Booking System (OTBS) will go live for BITSAT-2024 .Registered and fee paid candidates can reserve their test date and slot using OTBS.
Integrated First Degree Programs to which admissions will be made on the basis of BITSAT- 2024:
(i) at BITS, Pilani - Pilani Campus:
(ii) at BITS, Pilani - K. K. Birla Goa Campus:
(iii) at BITS, Pilani - Hyderabad Campus:
Note: The candidates who join in M.Sc. programme are eligible to apply for dual degree in Engineering at BITS Pilani after completion of first year. This assignment is made by competition on their performance at BITS at the end of the first year.
Eligibility :
(i) For admission to all the above programmes except B. Pharm.: Candidates should have passed the 12th examination of 10+2 system from a recognized Central or State board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and adequate proficiency in English.
(ii) For admission to B.Pharm.: Candidates should have passed the 12th examination of 10+2 system from a recognized Central or State board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology and adequate proficiency in English. However candidates with PCM may also apply for Pharmacy program.
Admission to all the programs is subject to the conditions given below.
The candidate should have obtained a minimum of aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects (if he/she has taken Mathematics in BITSAT) or a minimum of aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects (if he/she has taken Biology in BITSAT) subjects in 12th examination, with at least 60% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics / Biology subjects.
Merit List for Admission:
All candidates who appeared in the first or second session or both the
sessions of BITSAT-2024 and are interested in admission will be required to
submit Admission Application Form with 12th marks and preferences to different
degree programmes offered at Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad campuses, starting from
1st June to 28th June, 2024. Admission decisions (Iteration 1 results) will be
announced on 3rd July, 2024.
Application procedure :
Interested candidates should register their names for BITSAT-2024 by applying in the prescribed application form online. A candidate has to complete the application form online at http://www.bitsadmission.com and pay the prescribed fees. Also, take the printout of the filled-inform for your future reference.
BITSAT will be conducted in two sessions, the prescribed fee for BITSAT-2024 for a candidate who chooses to appear twice will have to pay a sum of Rs. 5400 (for a male candidate) and Rs. 4400 (for a female candidate).
A candidate who originally opts to appear once (Session-1), will pay a fee of Rs. 3400 (for a male candidate) and Rs. 2900 (for a female candidate). If such a candidate chooses then to apply to appear a second time (Session-2), then he/she will have to pay an additional sum of Rs. 2000 (for a male IX candidate) and Rs. 1500 (for a female candidate). If a candidate opts to appear only for Session-2, will pay a fee of Rs. 3400 (for a male candidate) and Rs. 2900 (for a female candidate).
The application fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
Details of BITSAT- 2024:
‘‘Computer Based Online test’ means the candidate sits in front of a computer and the questions are presented on the computer monitor and the candidate answers the questions on the computer by using keyboard or mouse. Each computer is connected to a server, which prepares the question set and delivers it to the candidate on the computer. This is unlike the traditional paper-pencil based test, which is generallyoffered on a single day to all candidates..
The examination will be organized in two sets of dates, BITSAT Session 1 and BITSAT Session 2, separated by a gap of a few weeks. A candidate may appear a maximum of two times in BITSAT 2024, once during the first set of dates (Session 1), and the second time during the second set (Session 2). The higher of the two scores will be considered for admission.
The BITSAT-2024 test will be conducted on the basis of NCERT syllabus for the
11th and 12th class.Candidates may refer to the NCERT textbooks for the
contents.
A sample test demonstrating the features of BITSAT-2024 will be
made available to the registered candidates at the BITS admission website on
which he/she can practice as many times as desired.
